Delete your OddsOut account or data

You can delete your OddsOut account and everything in it at any time, without asking anyone's permission. You can also delete parts of your data and keep your account.

Delete your account

Inside the app

Open OddsOut and sign in.
On the Home screen, tap the settings icon (⚙) in the top-right corner.
Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
Enter your password and tap Delete Forever.

The deletion happens straight away and cannot be undone. For your safety, it needs a recent sign-in: if the app asks, sign out, sign back in, and try again.

If you can no longer open the app

Email [email protected] from the email address of your account, with the subject Delete my account. We confirm it is you and delete the account and its data within 30 days.

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Subscriptions are billed by Google Play. Cancel it first in the Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → OddsOut.

What is deleted

Your sign-in account and email address
Your profile: pseudonym, date of birth, country, type of addiction, quit date and spending figures, questionnaire answers
Your journal entries, mood and urge logs, and weekly progress
Your goals and the money set aside for them
Your conversations with Odd, the app's companion
Your group memberships and your Battle Buddy connection
The key that encrypts your journal, which is wiped from your phone — any leftover encrypted copy becomes unreadable

What is kept, and for how long

Forum posts and replies you wrote stay in their threads so the conversation still makes sense for others, but your name and ID are replaced with Former member. Nothing in them links back to you. You can delete them yourself before deleting your account.
Messages you sent to a Battle Buddy remain visible to that person, under your pseudonym, and are no longer linked to any account.
Reports and feedback you sent us are kept as moderation records until you ask us to delete them at [email protected].
Backups: anonymised data may remain in our backups for up to 90 days, after which it is overwritten.

your forum posts and replies
your messages in groups
your goals

Anything else

To delete any other data — journal entries, your mood history, or anything we hold about you — email [email protected] from the email address of your account and tell us what you want removed. We reply within 30 days and confirm once it is done.
