By using OddsOut, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the app.
OddsOut is a mobile application designed to support people in their recovery from problem gambling. OddsOut is a support tool — it is NOT a medical device, a licensed therapist, or a substitute for professional treatment.
OddsOut is provided by OddsOut, Lda (NIPC 519558456), with its registered office in Funchal, Portugal — "we" or "us" in these terms.
If you are in immediate danger or mental health crisis, please contact emergency services or a professional helpline — you'll find the lines in the Support tab and behind the SOS button.
To support you in your recovery, OddsOut includes, among other tools:
Features may evolve, be added or be withdrawn over time. Before we withdraw a feature you actively use, we will give you reasonable notice.
You must be at least 18 years old to use OddsOut. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or older, and that confirmation is recorded with the date and time it was made.
We do not ask for your date of birth and have no way of verifying age. This confirmation is therefore a declaration by you, and it cannot be changed afterwards. If it turns out to be false — in particular, that you are under 18 — we close the account and delete the associated data, without prior notice and without refunding subscriptions already paid.
OddsOut does not knowingly collect data from individuals under 18. Parents and guardians should monitor their children's device usage to prevent unauthorised access to this app.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Do not share your password with anyone. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
When you create the account you declare that the information you enter is true. That declaration is recorded with the date and time it was made.
A false declaration — about your age or about any other detail given at sign-up — is grounds for us to close the account. Depending on the seriousness, we may first ask you to correct the information; where age is concerned we do not ask, we close.
OddsOut is a paid subscription, monthly or annual, from day one — there is no free trial period. Nothing is charged without a purchase you made, and prices are shown in the app before you buy. They include VAT where applicable and may vary from country to country.
Your subscription renews automatically, at the price in effect at that time, unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
We refund anyone who asks, within the first 30 days. You do not need to give a reason: write to support@oddsout.app within 30 days of the purchase and we return what you paid. This is our commitment, not an app store condition.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple (iOS) or Google (Android), and that is where you cancel, in your device’s subscription settings:
Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription: you cancel it in the store, as above.
After you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period already paid. Apart from the 30-day commitment, we do not pause subscriptions or refund the unused part of a period.
Your store also has its own refund process, with its own deadlines, usually quicker in the first few hours (iPhone: reportaproblem.apple.com; Android: support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637). When that does not apply, our commitment stands — write to us.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Giving false information at sign-up, or impersonating another person, is grounds for account closure under section 3.
OddsOut provides community features where users can share posts, replies, and messages. You are solely responsible for the content you submit.
All community content is subject to automated moderation, and posts that break these rules may be blocked automatically. The following is strictly prohibited:
OddsOut reserves the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules; in serious cases, without prior notice (section 13). Users may report content they believe violates these terms using the in-app report feature.
You can delete your posts whenever you want. If you delete your account, your past posts are anonymised — your name and your identifier are replaced with a "former member" label — so the conversation still makes sense without identifying you.
OddsOut includes a conversation companion called Odd, designed to offer support and encouragement in recovery. By using it, you acknowledge that:
If OddsOut ever introduces AI-generated replies, these Terms and the Privacy Policy will be updated before that feature is enabled.
OddsOut provides a directory where psychologists with a verified professional licence offer sessions. OddsOut does not employ, supervise or provide healthcare; each session is a direct agreement between the user and the psychologist, including price, payment and invoicing, which take place outside the app. Verification by OddsOut is limited to the professional licence and the code of conduct. Any improper conduct can be reported on the provider's profile and leads to removal from the directory. Notes a provider keeps about a user are confidential, are the provider's responsibility, and are deleted when the user deletes their account. In a crisis, contact the support lines in the Support tab or through the SOS button — directory providers are no substitute for emergency services.
OddsOut is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The content in this app is for informational and motivational purposes only.
If you are experiencing severe gambling addiction or related mental health issues, we strongly encourage you to seek professional help alongside using this app. The app is also not a substitute for professional financial advice.
OddsOut is provided "as is" and "as available". We make reasonable efforts for it to work and to be accurate and useful, but we do not guarantee that:
To the fullest extent permitted by law, OddsOut shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, or from your inability to use it.
Our total liability to you, in any twelve-month period, is limited to the amount you paid for the subscription in that period.
Nothing in these Terms limits the rights that Portuguese or European law gives you as a consumer, including those you cannot waive by contract.
All content, designs, logos, trademarks, and software within OddsOut are the property of OddsOut or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable and non-exclusive licence to use the app for its intended purpose; all other rights are reserved.
You may not:
Content you submit to the community remains yours, but you grant OddsOut a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display it within the app. That licence exists only so the community can work — we do not claim ownership of what you write.
How we collect and use your data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
You can delete your account whenever you want, in Settings, under "Delete Account".
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously breach these Terms. We will let you know beforehand, unless the situation calls for immediate action — for example, serious abuse in the community (section 6) or a false age declaration (section 2).
We may update these terms as the app evolves. When they change, the app shows you the new text and asks you to read and accept it before you continue. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the most recent revision.
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal and the European Union. Any disputes arising from these terms or the use of OddsOut shall be resolved through the courts of Funchal, Portugal — without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence: as a consumer, you may always bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live.
Before initiating legal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at support@oddsout.app to attempt an amicable resolution.
In the event of a consumer dispute, you may also turn to an alternative dispute resolution body, such as CNIACC — Centro Nacional de Informação e Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo (www.cniacc.pt), Portugal's National Consumer Arbitration Centre. The full list of these bodies is at www.consumidor.gov.pt.
